Addison’s Rising – “If Only” Review

Addison’s Rising’s first recording is a step, if only a baby step.  Take it from me, it pays to invest in a good recording.  Once you get past the unease of production, you can hear the music, which is very cool.  Beginning with a Linkin Parkish backwards effect on the guitar the song then takes on many different faces with guitars, swirling synths, and a punk rhythm section supporting the sometimes melodic, sometimes screaming vocals.  The vocals could be a bit more in sync with one another, with double tracks and harmonies sometimes just missing eachother, but none the less add up to a promising first song from a promising band.  The talent’s there, just waiting for the production to catch up, and Rise you will, Addison.
